Why do you blog?
Submitted by littleduckling.
To stay connected to friends who don't live close to me.
What was your first car?
First one I drove, a late-80's Colony Park station wagon.
First one I paid the insurance for, a 1993 Dodge Spirit which I bought off my brother for the price of the title transfer because he needed to get rid of it, and I didn't own a car.
First one I consider *my* car, a 2004 Toyota Corolla which I bought new when the temp gauge of Casper wouldn't leave "H". I've also completed my payments on this with my last paycheck. It truly is my car now...well, as soon as Toyota pulls the last payment from my bills account on June 1st.
Do you believe in ghosts? If so, have you ever seen one?
Yes. Haven't seen one, but have heard one. I would have thought I was crazy when the tour guide asked what I was talking about when I asked him about the footsteps I'd heard above us, but one other person in the group said he had heard them, too. This was in the Vaults in Edinburgh.
What indulgence always makes your grocery list?
Simply Grapefruit. I'm addicted to grapefruit juice, and this is not so concentrated as to make my stomach completely unhappy.
What inspires you to blog?
Staying connected with my friends.
You crash your friend's car because you're driving too fast in bad weather. Everyone's okay, but the car has to go into the shop. Who pays the deductible?
You do.
Who or what do you really love?
My family, grapefruit juice, writing, chocolate, adult popular fiction (preferably genre), my personal citrus smoothie, knitting, my friends.
What's your morning beverage of choice? Coffee, tea, juice? Homemade or store-bought?
Simply Grapefruit juice...as wildly, acidly addictive as Ocean Spray without being quite so concentrated.
How do you stay organized?
Submitted by devillibrarian.
How can I not answer my own QOTD?!?! And seriously, how bad is it that I've only just now seen it?
Anywho, the reason I submitted this question is because I am horribly, horribly disorganized in my life. I make vague attempts at organization and then get very, very, VERY bored before I'm done. For keeping my knitting and yarn habits somewhat organized, I give thanks for Ravelry. I shudder to think what yarn goblins I may have succumbed to without the drive to input all of the yarn I own into their database. Ravelry, organizational crack I keep going back to.
In keeping myself generally organized in what I have to do with my every day life, I have a paper work calendar, a more detailed general life calendar, a Palm TX and craploads of Super Sticky Post-It Notes. I think my addiction to office supplies helps my attempts at organization. I get to play with colored pens and Post-It Notes!
Thanks to my genetic defect (third generation librarian), my book collection remains fairly organized, when I can keep them on the shelves. As to actually knowing what I own, I greatly, greatly enjoy LibraryThing. Still need to block out a whole three-day weekend to getting the whole collection on there, though.
But all of that is meta-organization. When it comes to physical objects (not including the books that somehow stay on their appointed shelves), I just can't seem to contain my cluttered, pack rat existence. I think I need to bring my sister over here and pay her to crack the whip over me so I can throw out the stuff I know I need to but have a hard time doing.
Do you own all the albums of any particular musical artist or group? Who?
Submitted by dutterman.
Ignoring those with only one or two albums, and the die hards would of course have all of the EPs and studio cuts and bootlegs, I think the closest I come to having all of the albums of a particular artist or group are Robbie Williams and Texas. I know I don't have Robbie's Live from Knebley, but I'm not so sure I don't have all of Texas' albums, and I'm only counting full albums here.
